Our first 6 week group training courses of 2025 have been scheduled! These courses will meet once a week on the same day and time, and you will have two scheduling options for both beginner classes. Read on for descriptions, dates/times, and more information!
Beginner Level One
This is a great starter class for puppies and adult dogs with no prior training! Your pup will learn basic commands, impulse control, and foundation exercises for more advanced training. Exercises include Sit, Down, Stay, Loose Leash Walking, and more!
Cost: $150.00; No prerequisites required.
Course Times/Dates
Group A:
6:00pm on the following Wednesdays: 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, and 2/19
OR
Group B:
11:00am on the following Saturdays: 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22
Beginner Level Two
This course builds up the skills learned in Level One; exercises include working with distractions, Formal Heel, Formal Recall, and more!
Cost: $150.00
Prerequisites: Beginner Level One Course or Skills Assessment (see below)
Course Times/Dates
Group A:
6:00pm on the following Tuesdays: 1/14, 1/21, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, and 2/18
OR
Group B:
9:00am on the following Saturdays: 1/18, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22
For the Skills Assessment, your dog should be able to:
Sit and Down in the Heel Position on verbal cue (at your side, not in front of you)
Sit/Stay and Down/Stay for approximately 10 seconds at a distance of 4 feet
Walk 10 paces with a loose leash
Be familiar with the "Focus" and "Touch" commands
All training, group or private, requires the following:
A completed Dog Training Intake & Registration form*
If you have previously taken a course with us, you do not need to submit a registration form unless it is for a different dog
*Completing this form does not guarantee placement in a training class
Proof of current vaccinations for the following: Rabies, distemper/parvo, and Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
We only accept vaccination records from a veterinary clinic or animal shelter
Vaccine records can be sent to slvpetcare@gmail.com or via text to 719-480-0199
Because these are group classes, children are not allowed to attend - we do offer private training sessions if you would like your children to be involved. Each dog must have their own handler (one dog per person); disruptive dogs or dogs that pose a danger to the trainer or other dogs will be removed from class.
